Sally Sloan graduated from Brown University with a degree in art history, with a second major in design from the Rhode Island School of Design.
She established a graphics and calligraphy business in Los Angeles that she operated for 20 years, before moving to Sarasota.
"In my paintings I enjoy the process of putting together diverse materials and adapting their uses to the problem at hand. I think it is intriguing to admire to admire a painting from across the room and then, as one gets closer, to see more and more happening within the painted surface.
"Textures, pattern, collaged papers and plenty of color all contribute to produce a painting that constantly encourages the viewer to make new discoveries. My aim is to produce a fresh approach that is uniquely mine and results in a painting that is accessible and pleasing to the eye."
