Judy Lyons Schneider, a printmaker and mixed media artist, was born in NYC and studied at the Art Students League and New York University. Her work has appeared in museums, galleries and universities throughout the country and in Russia. Solo shows include the Gallery for the Study of Women and Gender at Princeton University, at the Sarasota Women's Resource Center, at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio, the Venice Art Center, Harmony Gallery in the West Coast Symphony Center in Sarasota, FL, at the Interchurch Center in New York City, and The Longboat Key Center for the Arts. She was also on the Creator and Collectors Tour in 2006, sponsored by the Fine Arts Society of Sarasota.
In addition to a Geraldine Dodge Foundation Grant and a residency grant to Soaring Gardens Artists' Retreat, her art has won many prizes. Recent awards were given to her work at the Longboat Key Art Center, the Von Liebig Art Center in Naples, FL, Art League of Bonita Springs, Art Center Sarasota, Art League of Manatee County, Venice Art Center, and a UNIFEM fundraiser in Great Barrington, MA.
