Jini Mount states: "While on a trip, I take lots of photos and sketch a particular scene that I feel would be an exciting painting or that kind of sums up the essence of the place. After the trip, I like to start right away while the soaked up visions are still fresh. One painting leads to another and ends up in a series of the entire experience. One day, at the corner of Main and Palm streets, I saw more construction cranes in the sky than birds. I thought, 'Is this my quiet corner of Florida?'"
Transition became the series name of paintings of a rapidly changing town, where the crane is swiftly replacing the egret.
Jini has exhibited in New Jersey, Atlanta, Miami, North Carolina and Sarasota. She operates the Celery Barn Gallery in Towles Court, Sarasota.
