Susan Morris McGee is primarily a watercolorist, but she has most recently been creating with oils and pastels as her work has centered around the rapidly vanishing landscape of the American West.

Her preferred use of earth colors for their calming influence as well as their ability to create dramatic effects was the subject of a feature article in Watercolor Magazine focusing on several of her paintings. These colors also dominate her 'inscapes' - "close-up looks at everyday scenes which are often ignored on a conscious level by most people."

Along with many national awards, her work has also appeared on the 'Watercolor Page' of American Artist Magazine and in the books "Splash 3" and "Art from the Parks: 74 Artists Celebrate America's National Parks" among others.
