Martha (Marty) Hartman was painting in Sarasota alongside her artist husband, Bill Hartman, in the 1950's and she has been painting and winning awards ever since.
Selby Gallery at the Ringling School of Art featured Marty and her late husband in a retrospective show of their work in 2003.
She is primarily known for her work in collage using paints, papers and gold leaf. Honored by Art Center Sarasota as a "Pioneer Artist of the 50's," her biographic material may be found in the recent "History of Visual Art in Sarasota," "Who's Who in American Women" and Who's Who in the Mid-West."
